Obituary of James E. Williams, Jr.
Military graveside services for James Edward "Corky" Williams, 87, of Lubbock, TX, will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, May 20, 2017, in the Abernathy Cemetery, where his gravesite will be dedicated by his grandson, Jammie Williams. Services are under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX.
Mr. Williams died Thursday, May 18, 2017, in Lubbock, TX.
He was born February 25, 1930 in Hale Center, TX, to J. E. "Ed" and Ettie Lee (May) Williams. He grew up in O'Donnell and Crosbyton, later lived in Farmington, NM and Denver, CO from 1973 until moving back to Lubbock in 2010. He was a master mechanic, loved the old TV shows, cowboy songs and stories, but most of all, he loved his children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and a brother.
Corky is survived by his children, Larry Williams and wife Anna, Brenda Williams and husband, Jerry Slater all of Lubbock, Tanya Solem of South Dakota and Mike Dearman of Denver, CO, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
