Boone is Preston’s best friend and Preston reminded us that he and Boone’s first time to get in trouble at school was them peeing out on the playground and then Preston peed on Boone causing Boone to have to change clothes. Braxton loved having Boone as his Antelope Buddy his senior year, but Braxton said his favorite memory was one Saturday he went out to work for John and the wind blew the tarp all over the field and Boone came out and asked John why he was putting it out in the field. That sweet Boone was very special to our entire family and will always be in all our hearts with great memories.

Abernathy ISD is deeply saddened by the loss of one of our own, Boone Bradshaw. Boone was a Kindergartner at Abernathy Elementary in Mrs. Curry’s class. He was a phenomenal kid, loved by all. His kindness is an example for all of us to aspire, and his illuminating personality will continue to have an impact on our students, staff, and community.

I was sitting in a meeting one Sunday afternoon when Kate stepped out to answer a phone call. With tears in her eyes she motioned for Brian to come out and I knew. John and Sara are getting a baby!!!! Tears filled my eyes before they ever came in to confirm it. We had prayed so long for his arrival.
I will never forget the first time I saw him. John was standing outside Randy’s shop holding sweet Boone. He had the biggest brown eyes I had ever seen and hair that seemed to have a mind of its own. He was a living reminder that God answers prayer and he made me want to pray for big things. My big prayer is that the Lord will comfort your broken hearts.

I’ve struggled with this tragedy since I heard the news. Some days I fight trying to understand the will of God knowing well I’ll never get there. I know every time I saw Boone he was happy as could be. I knew every time he stepped up to that tball plate against my daughter it was over because he was fixing to slam it like a grown man!… One thing I know is I never want to get a call at work from my wife telling me how she had to explain to my daughter how her friend wouldn’t be at school tomorrow ever again. Some days you just wish you could hit erase and rewind. We are praying for the Bradshaw family. Boone touched more hearts than I believe they will ever know! We are all better people for knowing Boone truly a one of a kind young boy!

Vivianna and I had the privilege to be Boones PreK teachers. We always loved when he would come in the room in the mornings because he would always have a new story to tell! He was such an amazing and caring boy, so wise beyond his years. He was the most caring boy and was the best friend to everyone in the room. He was always looking out for everyone. He always had a smile on his face. I look back through my pictures of the amazing year we had to together and I am so thankful I have the memories I will cling to of this amazing child! Q: What will you never forget about Boone?
A: My family met Boone at First Steps Daycare. Now The first time I met Boone he was super shy, he would watch me drop off his little friend Journey and they would take off running in the gym. About a week had gone by of me waving and saying good morning, and just out of the blue, Boone walks up to me and says,“Journey’s Mom you are so pretty!” I gave him a big hug and shortly after he ran off to play with his friends. It did not take Boone long to warm up to me and his new friend Journey. Boone was always so sweet and his stories were fun to hear. His laugh was absolutely contagious! Boone will always be in our hearts!

We love Boone as much as he loved running over flag footballers. When he asked me if he could run over the kids and I said yes, he came back to the huddle frustrated and said they still got my flag! I told him they won’t next time and sure enough the defense opened up when he got the ball again. I’m so happy he was on our team this year. He brought a smile to everyone’s faces and always had me laughing. We love you Boone, John, and Sara!

What a great boy. Respectful, gregarious, and so smart. Each and every time you were with Boone, you came away smiling. We will miss him dearly.

A: His precious smile. How he would call me his girlfriend but the moment I saw him he was too shy to talk to me but only took a few minutes to start talking to me about King Kong. I will miss showing houses with my little buddy. You were so loved Boone and will be missed terribly

I’m relatively new to Abernathy, but had the honor of meeting Boone on multiple occasions while on patrol. Boone would come to me while I walked through the school and always made sure to give me a high-five. Boone also made it a point to run to the fence during recess as I passed by and say hi to the police officer. Boone was well mannered and so caring for others. I am extremely sorry for your loss, but know the life you gave Boone was filled with happiness and joy. Prayers for you all.

Boone had the most incredible memory. I loved when he would come to lunch on Fridays with his grandparents Pat and Debbie and he would tell me all about dinosaurs. He would remind me of things he had told me a couple of years earlier. I enjoyed making a dinosaur quilt for him and he could name all the dinosaurs on it. He was an incredible little guy.
