Services for Renée Rogers, 65 of Abernathy, TX, will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, August 20, 2018, in the First Baptist Church with Rev. Van Houser officiating.  Burial will follow in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Abernathy.  The family will gather to receive friends at the Rogers home, 3298 IH 27-87, Abernathy, from 5:00 pm until 7:00pm, Sunday, August 19th.

Renée died at her home in Abernathy, Thursday, August 16, 2018.

She was born, Jeanne Renée Bowers, July 29, 1953, in Farmersville, TX to Hubert and Betty Jo (Henson) Bowers.   Following her high school graduation, Renée attended Texas Tech University, earning her degree in fashion merchandising in 1975. She married Bobby Rogers and to that union was born three children, Trey, Amie and Lindsey. She returned to Texas Tech to get her teaching certificate and began teaching in 1987 in Hale Center. In 1999 she moved to Aledo, TX  where she taught until retiring from the public school system  in 2012 to begin teaching at Weatherford Christian School.  She lived and taught in Weatherford, TX and was an active member of the Northside Baptist Church.She moved to Abernathy and began substitute teaching for Abernathy ISD in 2014. 

Renée, Nonna, was a mother and grandmother that loved attending school sports, stock shows and activities. Being the loving, doting Nonna, she was often heard telling her children and grandchildren, "You make my heart smile"! 

She is survived by a son, Trey Rogers and wife Stephanie and their 2 children, Racee and Siler, of Lorenzo, TX, 2 daughters, Amie Leggett and her 3 sons, Caden, Gage and Landry of Georgetown, TX, and Lindsey Harris and husband Landon and their 3 daughters, Ashtyn, Avery and Maddyn of Abernathy, a brother, David Bowers and wife Rebecca of Cypress, TX and a sister, Beverly Box of Plano, TX.
