To the family of Renee -
I worked in the office at McAnally Intermediate with Renee from 2003-2005. She was such fun and would always make you smile or laugh with a funny comment. One of her very favorite things to talk about was her family. She adored all of you and was such a proud Mom and Nonna. I know how hard the loss will be for all of you but what wonderful memories you have and what a great influence she had in your lives. My prayers are with you all.

Dear Family,
May I say, how special your mom was. She was always laughing and lots of fun during high school. You could always count on her big smile
and sweet personality.
I hope you will always remember the good times!! And remember how wonderful her new life in Heaven is now!! There will be times when you pick up the phone to call, or
say I wish I could talk to mom!! Those are natural emotions and thoughts! Just love and treasure the good memories you had.

Renee and I taught together in Hale Center for many years. She made teaching fun! I coached both her girls and loved having Renee as a fan in the stands. She even served at my wedding reception. We had so much fun together, and got into some trouble at times. We had reconnected the last few years through stock shows. I loved every minute of time with her, she is a forever friend. I love you all and will continue to pray for your sweet family.

Trey, Aimee, and Lindsey, David, Beverly and family; we send our loving thoughts, heartfelt condolences, and prayers, as we share your loss.
We remember those times back in our youth, as we spent time at Uncle Hubert and Aunt Betty’s home on Hill Street in Farmersville running along the railroad playing for hours. We remember when a train passed by, how it shook the whole house and the loud horn blew. In time it was barely noticeable to you but definitely got our attention every time! Many mighty baseball and football games were played and only the girls could tackle us. Renee could hit the ball and throw it pretty hard. A fierce competitor. But most of all, she kept us laughing! Always giggling and in a great mood.
We shared wonderful holidays together at Aunt Winona’s with Uncle Bink, Ann, Nona Rae, Mary Jo and a brief time with Genie Boy, Grand Daddy Henson, Uncle Cy and Aunt Jimmye, Bill and Dick, Uncle James and Aunt Ann, Billy, Bobby, and Nancy and our immediate family; Uncle Auby, Aunt Dorothy, Monty, Melanie, Kim, and me. We enjoyed great eats, war stories, pass and kick outdoors, and memories were made each time.
Uncle Hubert began working with Winters Construction and we followed them from Jasper to Weatherford, TX as we grew up. Not only did we visit them but they visited us annually to attend the Mesquite Rodeo and we enjoyed saddling up our horses for everyone to ride. Those were the days we bonded, shared, and grew close. David was quite the competitive tennis player and I was lucky to travel around with them. David sat in the front seat with his mom and I sat in the back with two of the driest witted, crazy girls...Beverly and Renee’. The trips never seemed long, as we were easily entertained by simpleton antics that kept us laughing the entire to and from and while at the tournaments. Aunt Betty would say, “How can y’all find that much humor in anything, to laugh that much is just crazy!” We did, as Renee’ performed one-liners and had quite a colorful vocabulary from those days spent at vacation Bible school at the Baptist Church. Her words, delivery, timing, hilarious sense of humor, quick wit and intelligence formed by her “perfectly” shaped mouth and teeth from sucking her thumb as a young child ....made everything she said that much more amusing and funny. Even Beverly, her big sister and constant companion laughed at her jokes. They were best friends and friends laugh with you not at you....but she was really funny!
We all grew up and Renee’ often stated, “Mother made me grow up but I refused for as long as I could and then she handed me off to Bobby! OOOPS!!! Then, she took me and the kids back!”
We returned to Farmersville for family reunions and Grand Daddy Henson’s major birthdays. Renee’ would say what everyone else was thinking as she did in this case. “It seemed appropriate since he had given us all those silver dolllars and two-dollar bills that we could at least attend his 100th birthday ...but I see some from their absence, they did NOT share those same feelings! And how many more of these birthdays do they actually think he will have?” Followed by that mischievous laugh of her’s. She was just funny, dry and crazy like that and we loved her for it! She once said that every time we had a reunion we got to meet the NEWEST boyfriend or husband or girlfriend or wife...as we could NOT make up our mind who we loved or who loved us...depending on the latest set of circumstances! She curiously asked, “What if we show up with one of the other’s exes?” This was too real but funny as ...DIVORCE had found many of us unaware! She once said, “I went to a Narcissist Convention but soon realized; it was just a ...HENSON Reunion!” That broke us all up ,,, figuratively and literally! David and I were blown away as we both had been the latest victim!
Renee’ loved her Mom and Dad and siblings, her family, kids, and grand kids. Becoming Nonna ...was her greatest achievement in life. She loves each of them with her whole body and soul. Renee’ cherished each level of her life and met it with conviction, purpose, and love. Never loosing her wonderful sense of humor and fun-filled way. That stern, questioning look, fiery, red-head temper, and quick-wit ...will forever be in our hearts and minds. Thanks for the laughs, thoughts, and memories. At least your red roots turned grey and could be dyed ...while mine turned loose forever! We will see you on the other side. Tell them all ...we love them. Miss you already!
May God bless each of you as you adapt and transition. His promises give us hope and guidance. We will see her again. In the words of the great hymnist, “...when nothing else would do, love lifted me.”
