Services for Wanda Lee Looney, 80, of New Deal, TX, will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, October 20, 2016, in the First Baptist Church, New Deal, with Rev. George Carkeet officiating. Burial will follow in the Strip Cemetery, Abernathy, under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX.
Mrs. Looney died at her home, Monday, October 17, 2016.
She was born April 4, 1936 to Joe Clinton "Jake" and Nona Lee (Teal) Wylie on the family Teal family farm near New Deal. She graduated from Whiteface High School in 1953 and married Perry Looney on September 2, 1953 in Amarillo, TX. After their marriage, she moved to New Deal from the V& Ranch in Whiteface, TX. She was a member of the Community Church, riding horses, gardening and water Skiing. She loved spending time with her grandchilden.
She was preceded in death by a son, Kevan Looney, and a brother, Paul Joe Wylie.
She is survived by her husband Perry of New Deal, 2 daughters, Renay Roberts and Stephen of Dripping Springs, TX, and Rendy Harkey and husband Cliff of Cotton Center, TX, 4 grandchildren, Slader Roberts, Cale, Jake and Piper Harkey, a sister-in-law, Jan Wylie of Shallowater, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family has requested casual dress for the funeral services.
