Lori Oswalt Wilson passed away peacefully on November 7, 2015 after a lengthy illness. Family and friends will celebrate her life of 52 years on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at 4:00pm at First Christian Church, 2323 Broadway in Lubbock.
Lori was born on August 17, 1963 to Jerry K. and Claudia Oswalt. She graduated from Abernathy High School where, her senior year, she was proud of being a starter on the basketball team which brought home the state championship.
Lori was a graduate of South Plains College and Texas Tech University with degrees in Physical Education. After graduation, she worked for the City of Lubbock and, later for Lubbock's Board of City Development in the Small Business Incubator section. She was active with the United Way, past Director and President of Women's Protective Services board, Women's West Texas Golf Association Board of Directors, Guadalupe-Parkway Neighborhood Center Board of Directors, South Plains College Foundation Board of Directors and the Rotary Club of Lubbock.
She is survived by her husband of 22 years, E. Wade Wilson, and their children Phillip Wilson and wife Amanda of Rogers, Arkansas and Jennifer Neffendorf and husband Shannon of Dallas, Texas. Also, by her parents, sister Debby Tullis and husband Rodney and brother Jeff Oswalt of Abernathy, grandchildren Blaise, Alice, Hugh and Charlie Neffendorf, and Vivian Gray Wilson as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family suggests memorials be made to South Plains College Foundation Endowment for Physical Education at 1401 S. College Avenue, Levelland, Texas 79336.
