Services for A. C. Bridwell, 87, of Littlefield, TX, were held at 3:00 pm Tuesday, March 5, 2002, in the First Baptist Church, Littlefield, TX, with Rev. A. J. Kennemer, Rev. Gary Bivins, and Rev. R. B. Hall officiating.
Burial followed in the Littlefield Memorial Park, Littlefield, TX, under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy, TX.
Mr. Bridwell died Sunday, March 3, 2002, at his daughters home in Abernathy.
He was born on June 17, 1914 in Dawson County, TX. He married Naomi Redwine on June 3, 1939 in Paducah, TX. She preceded him in death on November 3, 2000.
In the 1950's he won the Texas State Champion Trap Shoot. He played baseball for the Lubbock Hubbards. He co-owned and operated Littlefield Butane with Buck Oldham from 1949 until 1991. He and a partner built the Crescent Park Motel in Littlefield and he was the former owner of Lubbock Wrecking. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a member and Deacon at the Littlefield First Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by a grandson; Shane Cunningham on February 23, 1998.
He is survived by a son, Jay Bridwell of Austin, TX, and 2 daughters, Missy Cunningham of Abernathy, TX, and Kim Longino of Littlefield, TX.
He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be sent to a favorite charity.
