Obituary of Ludy Owens

Services for Ludy Owens, 96, of Hale Center, TX, were held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, November 23, 2004 in the First Baptist Church with Rev. Carrol Green officiating. Burial followed in the Hale Center Cemetery under the direction of Freeman-Abell Funeral Home. Mrs. Owens died Saturday, November 20, 2004, at Legend of the Plains Nursing Center in Hale Center. She was born December 4, 1907 in Gainesville, TX. She lived in Gainesville until the age of 9 when her family came to the Plains in a covered wagon. She married Charlie Guy Owens on May 11, 1929 in Plainview, he preceded her in death May 28, 1983. They moved to Hale Center from Littlefield in 1947. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hale Center. Survivors include a son, Nathan and his wife, Betty Owens of Hale Center, TX, a daughter, Charlene and her husband Johnny Busby of Hale Center, TX, 2 sisters, Lois Dickey of Plainview, TX and Pearl White of Stinnett, TX, 7 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren.
