Obituary of Lauren Armstrong

Funeral Services for Lauren Brooke Armstrong, 20, of Sherman, TX and formerly of Hale Center, TX, were held at 2:00 pm Thursday, June 22, 2006, in the Harvest Christian Fellowship Church, 1203 Quincy Ave., Plainview, TX, with Paul Cypert and Ken Rowland officiating.
Burial followed in the Plainview Cemetery under the direction of Freeman-Abell Funeral Home, Hale Center, TX.
Lauren died Saturday, June 17, 2006, in Sherman, TX.
She was born July 10, 1985 to Jon and Sheila (Patridge) Armstrong, in Borger, TX. During her years at Hale Center High School, Lauren was active as twirler, involved in student government, UIL, Girls State and played the bass clarinet in the Hale Center Owl Band and she received a 1st rating at State Twirling Competition. Lauren was the prankster known as the "Notorious Buffalo Painter". After graduating in 2003, she attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University, (SOSU), and again became very active. She was a Savage Storm Leader, a student orientation organization. Lauren was the University's Marching Band Feature Twirler, member of Kappa Kappa Psi, band fraternity and won Miss Majorette Oklahoma in 2005. She was a member of the Cardinal Keys National Honor Sorority, was a writer for the SOSU newspaper, The Southeastern, and was on the KSSU Campus Radio. Lauren also found time to volunteer at the American Red Cross.
She is survived by her parents, Jon and Sheila Armstrong of Hale Center, TX, a brother, Eric Armstrong of Austin, TX and a sister, Sarah Armstrong of Lubbock, TX. She is also survived by her grandparents, Calvin Patridge and J. C. and Avenell Armstrong all of Plainview, TX.
