Obituary of Marvin Hovland

Services for Marvin John Hovland, 64, of Perryton, Texas, were held at 11:00 am Thursday, August 16, 2001, in the Abernathy First Baptist Church with the Rev. Dennis Teeters, officiating. Cremation followed services under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy, Tx. Mr. Hovland died Monday, August 13, 2001, in the Ochiltree General Hospital, Perryton, Texas. He was born on April 4, 1937 in Optimo, New Mexico. He served in the United States Air Force from 1956 until 1960, stationed in England. He married Barbara Mae Jones on September 6, 1962 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. They moved to Perryton, in 1964 from New Mexico. Mr. Hovland was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Hovland, November 30, 1991, and Hazel Helen Wasson, July 12, 2001, and a brother, James Hovland on May 16, 1994. He is survived by Wife, Barbara Hovland of Perryton, Tx. 2 Daughters, Carley Abell of Abernathy, Tx., Gwen Conner of Burleson, Tx. 2 Brothers, Howard Hovland of New River, Az., Darwin Hovland of Grants, N.M. 1 Sister, Laura Mae Billings of Corrales, N.M. 5 Grandchildren, Keelan, Cory & Teyler Abell all of Abernathy, Tx., Blake & Lyndie Conner both of Burleson, Tx.
