Obituary of Ruth Hernandez

Funeral Mass for Maria Del Rufugio "Ruth" Hernandez, 83, of Abernathy TX, were held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, January 17, 2007 in the St. Isidore Catholic Church in Abernathy with Rev. Joseph Chorikavunkal officiating. Burial followed in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy, TX. Rosary services were held 7:00 PM Tuesday evening, January 16, 2007 at the same church. Mrs. Hernandez died January 13, 2007 in Lubbock, TX. She was born April 28, 1923 in Staples, TX and married Thomas Hernandez on April 21, 1949 in Lubbock, TX. She was well known for doing alterations and was employed at Lon's Cleaners and Struve's Dept. Store. After retiring she continued to work for the public out of her home. She was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church, Guadalupenias and Crusillistas. She is preceded by 2 sons, David Thomas Hernandez and George Hernandez and a great granddaughter, Lorissa Adriana Hernandez. She is survived by her husband Thomas Hernandez of Abernathy, TX; 2 sons, Manuel Hernandez and Anselmo and his wife Yolanda Hernandez, both of Abernathy, TX; a sister, Trinidad Mantanona of Twenty Nine Palms, CA, 7 grandsons, 1 granddaughter and 4 great grandchildren. Abell Funeral Home
