Services for Bernice Ardoth Faver, 88, longtime resident of Hale Center, TX, were held at 2:00 pm Friday, September 22, 2006 in the Hale Center Church of Christ with Jason Freed officiating. Burial followed in the Plainview Memorial Park under the direction of Freeman-Abell Funeral Home of Hale Center, TX.
Mrs. Faver died September 20, 2006 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, TX, after a brief illness.
She was born June 4, 1918 in Parker County, TX to Jessie Blanche(Pate) and Oliver V. Powell. She was raised in Spade, TX and graduated from Cotton Center High School, Cotton Center, TX. She married Clifton O. Faver on April 12, 1941 in Hale Center and he preceded her in death on June 17, 1995. She was devout Christian, homemaker and seamstress. She worked many years sewing and altering clothes for the surrounding communities as well working at Vick's Cleaners in Plainview as a seamstress. She was an active member of Hale Center Church of Christ from 1933 until her move to a special care facility in 2003.
She is survived by 1 son, Dennis O. Faver and his wife Elaine of Newport News, VA, 3 daughters: Yvonne Rhoderick and Janice Faver of Hale Center, TX, and Cheryl and her husband Charles Case of Alvarado, TX, 3 sisters: Clotee Minchew of Hereford, TX, Imogene Hollingsworth of Plainview, TX and Afton Thomas of Dumas, TX, 5 grandchildren Stacy and her husband David Bird of Amarillo, TX, Wresha and her husband Alex Torrez of League City, TX, Cody Pierce and Ethan Pierce of Waxahachie, TX, Carren and her husband Andrew Ridge of Alvarado, TX, Derek Faver of Coast Guard, MD and Cindy and her husband David Bohannon of China Spring, TX, 8 Great Grandchildren: Erica and Sarah Bird, Wesley and Autumn Pierce, Joseph Andrew Ridge, David Jr., and Kristi Bohannon and 3 Great Great Grandchildren: Jordan, Jeffrey and Dustin Bohannon.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and 2 sons, Ronald Keith Faver and Michael Allen Faver.
Family suggests memorial contributions be sent to your favorite charity, Hale Center Church of Christ Building Fund or Lubbock Children's Home.
