Services for A. J. Davis, 81, longtime Hale Center Resident, were held at 11:00 am Wednesday, November 21, 2001, in the First Baptist Church, Hale Center, Tx., with Rev. Willie Griffin and Rev. Roosevelt Moore officiating. Burial followed in the Hale Center Cemetery under the direction of Freeman-Abell Funeral Home, Hale Center, Tx. He died Sunday, November 18, 2001 at Covenant Medical Center, Lubbock, Tx. He was born on December 27, 1919 in Palestine, Tx. He married Bobbie Jean Wright on November 13, 1955 in Clovis, N.M. She preceded him in death November 22, 1984. He married Atlee Smith in 1985 in Plainview, Tx.
