Obituary of Elizabeth Ann Robbins

Services for Elizabeth Ann Robbins, 94, of Idalou, TX will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, July 27, 2023, at Southcrest Baptist Church in Lubbock, TX, with UMC Hospice Chaplain, Colleen Eppler and Dr. Brandon Hays, with Southcrest Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in the Idalou Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home and Flower Shop of Abernathy. The family will gather to receive friends from 6:30pm until 7:30pm Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at Abell Funeral Home. Elizabeth died at home surrounded by family on Thursday, July 20, 2023. She was born April 18, 1929 on the farm in Hale County, TX to Sam and Mary (Jernigan) Magness. She married B. J. Robbins, November 10, 1946 and they resided on the farm near Idalou. Elizabeth was an avid Gardner, raising daylillies and vegetables. She loved Jesus and her family most of all. She was preceded in death by her husband, B. J., her parents and a sister, Louise Pinc. Elizabeth is survived by her 3 children, Joe Robbins, Jim Robbins and wife Beverley and Cheryl Dunn and husband Robin, 7 grandchildren, Michael Robbins, Brandon Robbins, Dawn Robbins, Benjamin Robbins, Nathan Robbins, Kyle Dunn and Kendall Dunn, 7 great grandchildren, Andy, Rachel, Silas, Tristan, Kara, Lauren and Lizzy and a sister, Mary Lois Magness. The family suggests memorials be sent to the Idalou Cemetery, P. O. Box 351, Idalou, TX 79329.
