Obituary of Louise Thomason

Services for Louise Thomason, 85, of Abernathy, TX, will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, March 22, 2023, with Ty Horsford officiating at First Baptist Church of Abernathy. Burial will follow in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Abernathy. Family will gather to receive friends from 5:30pm until 6:30pm, at Abell Funeral Home, Tuesday, March 21st. Mrs. Thomason died Saturday March 18, 2023 in Lubbock, TX. She was born January 16, 1938 in McAdoo, TX to Glyn and Ema Lorene (Powers) Johnson. She graduated McAdoo High School in 1956. Louise married Bobby Eugene "Cat" Thomason on June 6, 1956 in Spur, TX. They moved to Abernathy in 1970 where she served as Abernathy Senior Citizen Director in 1988. She Owned Louise's Snack Bar in Abernathy while her children were in school. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and worked in the nursery for many years. She was an avid sports fan following her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby "Cat" Thomason, December 25, 2016. She is survived by 2 daughters, Penny Louise Ritchie and husband Richard of Mineral Wells, TX and Sharon Cannon and husband Rodney of Lubbock, 1 son, Bobby Max Thomason and wife Delayne of South Lake, TX, 6 grandchildren, Rick G. Thomason, Matt Pierce and wife Brendi, Richelle Thomason Garcia and husband Mario, Ryan Pierce and wife Danielle, Brittany Cannon Youngblood and husband Scott and Justin Cannon and wife Taylor, 6 great grandchildren, Nolan and Rex Pierce, Abi Garcia, Rhett Pierce, Baker Cannon and Blakely Youngblood and 3 brothers, Duane Johnson and wife Johnnie Raye of Atlanta, GA, Jerry Johnson and wife Jeannie of Matador, TX and Dale Tedford of Lubbock.
