Obituary of Francis Joseph Brennan

Memorial services for Francis "Frank" Joseph Brennan, 85 of Lubbock, TX, are pending at this time. Cremation is under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop, Abernathy, TX. On Wednesday, November 2, 2022, Francis Joseph Brennan, a beloved husband, dad, and grandpa, passed away. He was born March 6, 1937, to Francis V. and Adele (Downey) Brennan in Shenandoah, PA. At the age of seven, the family moved to McKees Rock, PA where he lived until entering the Air Force in February of 1955. He served at the Reese Air Force Base until February 1963. During this time Frank met Helen L. Franklin at the Carlisle Roller Rink and married shortly thereafter on April 14, 1956. From this union, they had three children. Frank worked at various places as a mechanic in Lubbock. He worked the longest at the Lubbock Cotton Oil Mill, where he served as a shop and shift foreman. He was an avid race car enthusiast and helped race the radio station KEND #87 car and the Pizza Hut #87 car with some of his best friends. Frank enjoyed taking care of his yard and vegetable gardens. He loved to have his family and friends over where he would often tell his exaggerated stories and jokes. Frank always said he was "Born a damn Yankee, but was a Texan at heart!" Frank is preceded in death by his parents, wife Helen L. Brennan, brother James Brennan, and a sister Patricia Brennan Brophy. He is survived by his children Denise Brennan of Lubbock, Danny Brennan and wife Shari of Carson City, NV, Amy Brennan and husband Patrick Rivera of Lubbock, six grandchildren Shawn LaQuey and wife Dawn of Lubbock, Amber McCloud and husband Bobby of Lubbock, Jon Brennan and wife Beth of Thetford, Norfolk, Tyler Brennan of Galeen, Netherlands, Jamey Brennan of Utrecht, Netherlands, Emily Rivera of Lubbock and Krystal Altigeri and husband Michael of Abilene, six great-grandchildren Jocelyn Forburger, Kaitlyn McCloud, Gracie LaQuey, Peyton McCloud, Silas LaQuey all of Lubbock, Madison LaQuey, Trey Brownmiller of San Antonio, and Erin Brennan of Thetford, Norfolk and one great-great-grandchild Ryker Reid Brownmiller. Along with several nieces, nephews, and longtime family friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
