Services for Kristi (Carman) Hughes, 53, of Tahoka, TX, will be held at 11:00 am Friday, October 14, 2022, at Fresh Fire Fellowship, 3602 Frankford Ave., Lubbock, TX, with Rev. Dave Menefee officiating. Burial will follow in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX. The family will gather to receive friends from 6:00pm until 8:00 pm, Thursday, October 13, 2022, at Fresh Fire Fellowship.
Kristi died Sunday, October 9, 2022, in Lubbock, TX.
She was born March 14, 1969 in Lubbock to Jack and Barbara (Fitzwater) Carman. She was a graduate of Monterey High School in 1987 and earned her Bachelors degree in Business. She married Gary Hughes, May 27, 1995 in Abernathy, together, Gary and Kristi pastored the First Baptist Church in Desdemona, TX for several years. They later began Powerhouse Fellowship in Lubbock which they pastored for 11 years. The moved to Tahoka from Lubbock in 2018. Kristi enjoyed her backyard and rainy days. She was a Dallas Cowboy and Patrick Mahomes fan. She watched cooking shows and Gordon Ramsey. Above all else she loved her husband, Gary, children and grandchildren.
Kristi was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Barbara Carman.
She is survived by her husband, Gary Hughes of Tahoka, 4 children, Alyssa Von Zynda and husband Ethan of Carthage, TX, Korrie Ferrell and husband Justin, Trey Chandler and wife Ashley and Trey Mayfield and wife Sam, all of Lubbock, 9 grandchildren, Brynlee, Bryxten, Berklee, Bowdie, Canyen, Laramie, Abel, Nick and Nikolai and two brothers, Wayne Carman and wife Jimmie Nell of Lubbock and Randy Carman and wife Devin of Crane, TX.
