Susie was the real “boss” when I started teaching at Abernathy. She kept us all in line, which was a chore! She was so kind and funny, but you didn’t cross her or do your attendance late. She was a big fan of my son when he was born. Olivia and I also visited her at home after she retired. I am going to miss Susie Q but rejoice that her mind and body are renewed in Heaven.

Wonderful memories of her teaching Sunday School and VBS when I was a kid. It made it easier to go to the school office to take care of business with a friendly face greeting you. She helped me with necessary paperwork for school after graduation. Made things easier to navigate.

Susie was a very special lady in my daughter's lives while they were in high school. There was not a nicer or more caring person in this world than Susie. She will be missed.

Mrs. Ellis called me Lou-Lou or Moatsie….. she never called me Wendy and I loved that about her, it meant she knew you well enough to call you what ever she wanted. Lol. She was honestly one of the sweetest women I ever knew. Spent lots of Bible studies with Mrs Ellis and she was who she appeared to be every single day!!! She will be missed in our town…. I love the memories I have of her, every single one is good.
