Obituary of Chris Ford

Services for Chris Ford, 59, of Lubbock, TX will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, June 4, 2022, in the First Baptist Church, New Deal, TX with Rev. Danny Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Abernathy. Chris died Saturday, May 28, 2022, in Amman, Jordan. Chris was born January 4, 1963 in Lubbock, TX to Pete and Jewel Dean (Boyd) Ford. He graduated New Deal High School as Salutatorian in 1981 and was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church in New Deal, beginning on the membership's "Cradle Roll" as an infant. Chris worked for A-1 Mobile Homes and later began farming in the mid 1980's with his brother Gregg and retired from farming in 2017. Chris married Cindy Connell, April 22, 2005 in Ruidoso, NM. In 2021 Chris became employed by the New Deal ISD. He is preceded in death by his parents, Pete and Jewel Dean Ford. Chris is survived by his wife Cindy of Lubbock, 3 children, Matthew Ford and fiancé Kaylee, Landon Lutrick and wife Alita and Lyssa Casanova and husband James all of Lubbock, TX, brother, Gregg Ford and wife Kim of Abernathy, a sister, Melinda Flynn and husband Dan of Charleston, SC, and 7 grandchildren, Isaiah, Abigail, Lyla, Landri, Lance, Daphne and Stevie. The Ford family want to express their appreciation to the Ladies at First Baptist Church, New Deal and the Circle of Friends Ladies Class at Southcrest Baptist Church, Lubbock for putting the lunch together prior to the funeral service.
