Obituary of Loana (Paez) Barragan

Services for Loana (Paez) Barragan, 69 of Lubbock, Tx, will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at Mount De Los Olivas in Abernathy, TX with Carlos Arellano officiating. The family will gather to receive friends from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM Monday, November 1, 2021 at Abell Funeral Home. Cremation will follow services under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX. Loana Barragan died October 27, 2021 in Lubbock, Tx. Loana (Paez) Barragan was born December 15, 1951 in Corpus Christi, Tx to Luz and Guadalupe (Ramirez) Paez. The family then moved to Chicago, Il where she went to school. Loana married Francisco Barragan while in Chicago August 10, 1985. She enjoyed working on crossword puzzles and coloring. She loved to watch a good novela. Anyone that knew Loana knew her fondness for collecting dolls and elephants. She had an open door to anyone needing help, taking care of her family often. She is preceded in death by her son Humberto "Mimin" Santiago, siblings Serapio "Chapo" Paez, Luz "Chito" Paez, Jr., Eloisa Paez Paniagua, Oscar Paez, Macedonio "Max" Paez, Elizabeth Paez, Ruth Paez, Angelita Paez Duran, Espiridion "Peter" Paez. She is survived by her husband Francisco Barragan of Lubbock, children Radames "Ray" Flores of Hereford, Tx, Amalio Barragan and wife Cynthia of Lubbock, Saul Barragan and wife Carla of Hereford, Eloy Ramos of Chicago, and Loana Ruth "Prieta" Ramos of Hereford, 16 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, siblings Lazaro Paez and wife Estella Paez of Alvin, Tx, Naomi Paez Villegas and husband Horacio of Abernathy, Moises Paez and wife Ruth of Whitting, In, Irma Yedor of Fort Myers, Fl, and a sister in law Maria Paez Polanco of Abernathy.
