Obituary of Alex Garcia

Rosary for Alejandro "Alex" Martinez Garcia, 66, of Abernathy, will be recited at 7:00 pm Thursday, April 15, 2021 in St. Isidore Catholic Church with Rev. Brian Wood officiating. Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am Friday, April 16, 2021 in the same church with the same officiant. Following services the Garcia family will gather to receive friends at The Alley to celebrate the life of Alex. Due to restrictions, only immediate family will be allowed inside the Church for both the Rosary and Mass. Funeral Mass will be live streamed and audio will be set up in the Church parking lot. He died Tuesday, April 13, 2021 in Lubbock, TX. He was born September 11, 1954 in Lubbock to Cecilio Luna and Ynosente (Martinez) Garcia. He married Rosalinda Perez November 11, 1972 in Abernathy. Alex was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church and was an Usher and a member of the Men's Organization. Alex loved to fish, go camping, cook, working in his yard and traveling to Nebraska. He loved his grandchildren and his family was very important. Alex was preceded in death by his father and mother, grandson Parker Ryan Garcia and favorite dogs, Paco and Clifford Garcia. He is survived by his love of 48 years, Rosalinda (Perez) Garcia and his three beloved children, Alex Garcia, JR. and his wife Jennifer, Erica White and husband Rob and Ashley, and the apples of his eye, his grandchildren, Hannah, Hayven, Pilar, Lukas, Hudson, Ian, Leighton, Addison, Logyn Grace and Nathan, and two great grandsons, Ja'ven and Cristian and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by siblings, Jesus Garcia and wife Mitsuko, Gregoria Garza and husband Max, Ruben Garcia and wife Mary Ann, Dolores Barron and husband Juan, Cecelio Garcia, JR and wife Anita, Fina "Josie" Deanda and husband Roy and Yolanda Garcia and wife Peggy.
