Obituary of Buddy Ballenger

Charles "Buddy" Ballenger was born to Fritz and Mary Emma (Pugh) Ballenger, March 14, 1946 in Mineral Wells, TX. He was raised in Mineral Wells and later moved to New Deal, TX where he married Lillian "Sissy" Shropshire, June 10, 1966. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. When his daughters were young, he served as the youth minister at the church. He was a commercially licensed plumber and worked for Texas Instruments. Buddy took early retirement from Texas Instruments after more than 25 years. Buddy was a member of the Lubbock Plumbers Union. He then worked with his brother at Ballenger & Associates. He later worked with EOG Resources as a Right of Way Agent, retiring in 2014. Buddy loved to fish and became very involved with his grandchildren through their sports and ag events, such as pig shows.
Buddy died on Sunday, February 28, 2021 at his home in New Deal, TX, at the age of 74.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Bobbie Jean Hall on April 10, 2019.
He is survived by his wife, Lillian "Sissy" Ballenger of New Deal, 2 daughters, Quinetta Copeland and husband Glenn of New Deal and Ginna Ballenger, also of New Deal, 4 grandchildren, Blake Nelson and wife Katie of Oklahoma City, OK, Derek Copeland and wife Lynsey of New Deal, Brittanie Stolfo and husband Tyler Goodenough of Spokane, WA and Brook Stolfo of New Deal, 2 great grandchildren, Peyton Goodenough of Spokane, WA and Easton Skipper of New Deal and 3 brothers, Fritz "Sonny" Ballenger, Billy Ballenger and wife Barbara and Roy Ballenger and wife Brenda all of Mineral Wells, TX.
A Private Family Memorial Celebration for the life of Charles "Buddy" Ballenger will be held later this month.
