Obituary of Kristy Barron

Private memorial services for Kristy Barron, 55, of Shallowater, TX, will be held at Abell Funeral Home with Joe Marshall officiating. Cremation and services are under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX. Kristy died Saturday, March 21, 2020, in Lubbock, TX. She was born February 8, 1965 in Wellington, KS to Gary Botkin and Joan (Baity) Talley. Kristy was raised in Wellington, KS and went on to attend Athens High School, Athens, TX prior to graduating from Grapevine High School, Grapevine, TX, in 1983. She lived in Tyler, TX after graduation. She married Don Barron, June 21, 1997 in Overton, TX. They moved to Shallowater in 2000 to buy the family farm at County Line, TX. She was preceded in death by a sister, Debbie McGillicuddy, May 24, 2010. Kristy is survived by her husband Don Barron of Shallowater, Mother, Joan Talley and Father, Gary Botkin both of Kingston, TN, sister Ginger Talley of Harrington, TN and brother, Adam Botkin of Kingston, TN. The family suggests memorials be sent to the American Cancer Association, 3513 10th Street, Lubbock, TX 79415. A link will be provided for live streaming Saturday morning, April 4, 2020, prior to the memorial service for those unable to attend.
