Obituary of Carolyn Jane Boggus

Carolyn Jane Barton Boggus was born September 20, 1949, the daughter of Carl & Eloise (Shoemaker) Barton. She was born in Lamesa, TX. She attended school in Abernathy and graduated in 1967. Carolyn moved to Tarrant County and earned her associates degree in Engineering. She was a career woman for Pitney Bowes for 25 years and then worked for J.C. Penney. Carolyn loved to laugh, loved to be in charge, and was very generous with her nephews and niece. 

She died on Tuesday, November 27, 2018, in Lubbock, TX on what we now refer to as "Giving Tuesday" which fit her life of giving to others. Carolyn was preceded in death by her mom, Eloise Barton, on January 14, 2016. 

She is survived by her father Carl Barton, of Lubbock, two sisters, Marilyn Schroeder and husband Rick of New Braunfels, TX and Kay Heep and husband Jim of Franklin, TN, nephews Brandon Heep and wife Tiffany and son Wilson of Springhill, TN, Tyler Heep and wife Kris and children Ben and Elise of Urbandale, IA, and Justin Schroeder of Colorado Springs, CO and niece Megan Schroeder of London, UK. 

Cremation services are under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX. A private family service at the beach will be held at a later date.
