I worked with Solon for 10 years or so at Texas Tech. I got to know him fairly well and he became a dear friend. I remember walking around campus chatting with him as we made our rounds. We would also have coffee together in the early morning hours and we would talk about most anything. We played a few rounds of golf together. too. I could go on and on about the talks we had and the places and people we visited on the Tech campus. I thoroughly enjoyed being his co-worker and friend.
To Wanda, Troy, Debbie, and Diane, I offer my sincerest condolences.
