Obituary of Velma Roberts

Services for Velma Lee Roberts, 61, formerly of Hale Center, TX, will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, September 12, 2015, in the First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Hale Center Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Hale Center. Ms. Roberts died Tuesday, September 1, 2015, in Mansfield, TX. She was born February 25, 1954 to L. D. and Alvessie (Young) Roberts. She was raised in Hale Center and graduated from Hale Center High School. In 1985 she moved to Arlington, TX from Hale Center. She was a member of the Lone Star Baptist Church and her favorite pasttime was reading. She is survived by her children, Vincent Roberts of Arlington, TX, Melva Adams and husband Patrick of Grand Prairie, TX, Patricia Roberts of Ft. Worth, TX, Alvessie Roberts and Marvin Roberts both of Arlington, TX., siblings, Opal Roberts of San Antonio, TX, Jimmy Roberts of Hale Center, TX and Milton Roberts of Lubbock, TX and 6 grandchildren.
