Obituary of Billy Haney

Services for Billy "Bo" Haney, 71, of Abernathy, TX, will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, August 20th, 2015, in the Northside Baptist Church with Rev. Joel Perez, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX. The family will gather at Abell Funeral Home to receive friends Wednesday, August 19th from 6pm until 7:30pm. Mr. Haney died Tuesday, August 18, 2015, in Lubbock, TX. He was born July 7, 1944 in Hale County, TX to Orbie Lee and Mary Lavelle (Holleman) Haney. The family lived in Seagraves, TX, moving to Sonora and on to Abernathy in 1983. Bo was a member of Northside Baptist Church and his greatest accomplishment was coming to know the Lord. He was preceded in death by parents and 2 brothers, Glynden Lee Haney and Dean Haney. Bo is survived by 2 sisters, Ruby Booth and her husband Lee and Mary Kemp and husband Porter all of Abernathy. He is also survived by 2 nieces, Mary Etta Hartless, Gerri Rackler and 2 nephews, Kelly Booth and Raylee Haney, 5 great nieces and nephews and 4 great great nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff and administration at Lubbock Hospitality House, Lubbock, for the devoted and excellent care they gave to Bo.
