Obituary of Elsie Bendele

Graveside services for Elsie Bendele, 86, of Hale Center, TX will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, July 29, 2015, in the Hale Center Cemetery with Rev. Robert Malcom, pastor of Western Heritage Fellowship, officiating. Viewing will be held Tuesday, from 12:00 pm until 5:00 pm at Abell Funeral Home. Mrs. Bendele died Sunday, July 26th, 2015, in Lubbock, TX. She was born August 16, 1928 in Comstock, TX. She married Herman Bendele, Jr., September 16, 1940 in Ozona, TX. They moved to Hale Center from Comstock in 1956, where she worked at Hi Plains Hospital for 20 years as a nurses aid. They moved to Colorado City in 1980 and she was employed by the Wallace Center for years helping serve the community senior citizens. She retired while living in Colorado City and returned to her home town, Hale Center, after her husband became ill. Mr. Bendele preceded her in death on April 25, 2009. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Randy Hernandez in 1985. She is survived by her son, Robert Bendele and wife Lynnea of Hale Center, 3 daughters, Vera Hernandez of Dallas, TX, Susan Hargrove and fiance', David Mangalles of Lubbock and Patti Parks and husband Michael of Houston, TX, 7 grandchildren, Cody, Cory, Misty, Jason, Casey, Ronnie & Christie, 15 great grandchildren and 2 sisters, Lily Ortiz of Dallas and Ofelia Fuentes of Crane, TX.
