Memorial celebration for the life of William Thomas "Tommy" Whittenburg, 57, of Hale Center, TX, will be held at 6:00 pm Tuesday, May 5, 2015, in the Western Heritage Fellowship, Hale Center, with Rev. Robert Malcom officiating. Services are under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Hale Center, TX.
Mr. Whittenburg died Saturday, May 2, 2015, in Lubbock, TX.
He was born June 18, 1957 in Deming, NM to William Franklin and Aurelia Dawn (Teal) Whittenburg. He married Patricia Antonia Benson, September 1, 2007, at Morphy Lake, NM, she preceded him in death August 20, 2009. He moved to Hale Center in 2006 from Plainview, TX and was a member of the Western Heritage Fellowship. He was a contractor for Atmos Energy for 25 years and sub-contracted for Saunders Construction in Lubbock as well. He loved to hunt and fish, had an amazing sense of humor and was 100% "Grandpa" to his 2 granddaughters, Ryanna and Kylee.
He is survived by 2 daughters, Nicole Franklin and husband Richard and Danielle Whittenburg all of Hale Center, TX, 2 granddaughters, Ryanna Franklin and Kylee Whittenburg, a brother, Greg Whittenburg of Oregon and a sister, Carolyn Whittenburg Johnson of Tyler, TX and several nieces and nephews.
