Dad, the hardest thing about you leaving is not getting to tell you good bye. You left on a day that will impact me to celebrate you and not the beginning of another year. The going on part is impacting to realize I can no longer talk to you, see your smile or hear your laugh. However, I know what eternity holds for those of us who have called upon the Lord and gave ourselves to be redeemed through His blood shed for us. Your most impacting teachings on my life were to work hard and give kindness no matter what and never let anyone run over me. The greatest gift you gave me was the day you told me I was lost and I needed to find God and a church. Thank you Dad for being the provider, the leader, the usher to Jesus. When you spoke I always knew you meant it and I had better listen. I love you forever Dad ..... looking forward to the day of the trumpet sound !

I will never forget the all the times we all went up to Abrnathy as kids. We always had an awesome time at uncle Bob and aunt Polly's. We have some great memories there. Snipe hunting, sleeping in a tent in the back yard. Having uncle Bobs enchiladas for dinner. And the dried up pond in town we found all the carp. The cotton warhouses we all played in and had a blast. You will be missed sir....

Uncle Bob is part of some of my favorite childhood memories. It's a wonderful thing that the Lord allows us to keep those memories in our thoughts so that we and Uncle Bob will never be forgotten. The things that I love the most about Uncle Bob: 1. Whistling while he cooked 2. Face twitching and eyebrow movements 3. Pinky fingernail 4. Enchiladas 5. Saying "kiddo" 6. Toothpicks hanging out the mouth 7. His love for the Lord, his wife and family 8. The memories of childhood trips to Lubbock I am deeply saddened that as families grow into four generations that our priorities are altered and not by choice but by demand. Right now i wish I could have spent today at Uncle Bob's house.

So many memories came back when I saw Bob's name. And the more I thought about them, the more there were. I spent lots of time at the Parks' house growing up and being a silly girl, I am sure Nita and I could have driven her dad crazy. But he was always patient with our wild antics and he laughed about a lot of them. My sincere sympathy to the family in your loss.
