Obituary of Allen White

Services for Allen W. White, 87, of Hale Center, TX, will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, October 28, 2014, in the Hale Center First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Hale Center Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Hale Center. The family will gather at Abell Funeral Home, Monday to receive friends from 6:00 pm until 7:30 pm. Mr. White died Sunday, October 26, 2014, in Plainview, TX. He was born December 27, 1926 in Abilene, TX to Garnett and Jewell (Vire) White. He was raised in Abilene and served in the US Army from 1944 - 1945. He married Doris Parker on July 7, 1957 in Abilene. They moved to Hale Center in 1969, where he began his career with Hi-Plains Hospital as Chief Medical Technologist until retiring in 1996. He was a longtime member of the Hale Center First Baptist Church, where he served as Deacon and served on the Hale Center City Council for 12 years. He is survived by his wife Doris of Hale Center, 2 daughters, Cindy Hanby and husband Ron, of Plainview, TX and Sharon Broussard and husband Ron of Flower Mound, TX and 4 grandchildren, Melanie Palmer and husband Jeff, Emily Hanby, Ryan Broussard and Reid Broussard. The family suggests memorials be sent to Mission Hale Center or to Gideon's International, 1414 Ave. L, Lubbock, TX 79401.
