Services for Linda Mull Scott, 73, of Abernathy, TX, will be held at 10:00 am Friday, October 3, 2014, in the First Baptist Church with Pastor John David Mull, Rev. Mike O'Donnell and Del Ray Pope officiating. Burial will follow in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX.
Mrs. Scott died Wednesday, October 1, 2014, at her home in Abernathy.
She was born December 23, 1940 in Plainview, TX, where she was raised. She married Bill Scott on December 31, 1960 in Plainview and they moved their family to Abernathy in 1976. She was a strong woman of faith, and proud of her family. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, loved her church and Sunday School Class. She loved the Texas Rangers, and was famous for her cherry creamcheese pies, turkey and dressing. Her prized possession was her grandchildren, even learning to text, Facebook and use Instagram for those that lovingly called her "Nonnie"
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, on February 10, 2006 and a sister, Genie Hewitt.
She is survived by a son, Bryan Scott of Lubbock, 3 daughters, Bilinda Prater and husband Robert of Abernathy, Beth York and husband Gregory of Lubbock, and Barbie Pope and husband Del Ray of Pilot Point, TX, 9 grandchildren, Spencer Scott, Jordan Prater and wife Kirsten, Griffin Prater, Saralyn Prater, Morgan Harkey, Luke Harkey, Shannon Harkey, Brayson Pope and Maddye Pope, one sister, Georgia Proctor and husband Alvin of Tulia, TX and 2 brothers, Roy Mull, Jr and wife Paula of Lubbock and Marshall Mull and wife Candi of Plainview, TX.
