I meet Gene when he moved next door to my parents in Lubbock. When my dad died in May of 2010 Gene was one of the first to bring chicken and give us his condolences. When my mon died 27 days later Gene was there to comfort and help my siblings and I through a very hard time. Over the next year every time I came to Lubbock to clean out mom and dad's house Gene was there to give me support. One night a storm blew in and it was hailing and Gene helped me get my new car into mom and dad's garage. He was there to lend a helping hand and to tell us all we would get through the tough times. He shared his love of his wife and the grief he went through when he lost her. He was so proud of his family and loved to tell stories. My 2 brothers, sister and I went out to eat several times with Gene over the next couple of years!! We always had a lot of laughs. Gene and I talked often and he was a wonderful friend. I am sorry for your loss and I know he and my parents are talking in heaven!
