Services for Fannie Delanie (Harrell) Peacock, 81, of Abernathy, TX, will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, November 26, 2013, in the Northside Baptist Church, with Rev. Joel Perez officiating. Burial will follow services in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX. The family will gather at Abell Funeral Home Monday evening from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Mrs. Peacock died Thursday, November 21, 2013, in Lubbock, TX. She was born November 25, 1931 in Puckett, Mississippi to Essie and Ina May (Burnham) Harrell. She married Lawrence Fletcher "Pete" Peacock, October 3, 1946, in Lake Village, AR. They moved to Abernathy in 1971 from the Center Community and owned Peacock Shamrock, where she kept the books for 30 years and took him lunch daily. She loved crafts, canning, quilting and taking their daughters and grandchildren camping and fishing. She had an endearing and enduring love for her daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Pete, August 1, 2011 and 4 brothers; R. B. "Jim" Harrell, Essie Harrell, Jr., J. C. Harrell and Henry Harrell. She is survived by her 2 daughters; Mary Bennett and husband Mack of Bartlett, TN and Peggy Duffey and husband Wayne of Lubbock, TX, 5 grandchildren, Melissa Sellers and husband Hardy, Brent Styles and wife Mandy, Jaime Peternell and husband Jason, Cory Duffey and wife Misti and Amber Kirk and husband Dallas, 11 great grandchildren, Mary-Kate, Meggie, Matthew and Mclane Sellers, Chloe and Cullen Styles, Benjamin Peternell, Tyler and Cade Duffey and Kolton and Brooklyn Kirk and one great grandson, Luke Peternell, to make his arrival in January. She is also survived by 2 sisters-in-law, Patricia Harrell of Abernathy, TX and Elida Harrell of Lubbock, TX and many nieces and nephews. The Peacock family would like to express their appreciation for the dedicated care they received from Manna Acres, Elmbrook Estates and Odyssey Hospice. The family suggests memorials be sent to Abernathy Meals on Wheels, c/o Frankie Mills, 1601 Ave. J, Abernathy, TX 79311.
