Obituary of June Boyce

Services for June Boyce, 79, of Hale Center, TX, were held at 10:00 am Monday, August 3, 2009, in the First United Methodist Church. Graveside services were held at 2:00 pm Monday in the Morton Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home and Flower Shop of Hale Center, TX. Mrs. Boyce died Saturday, August 1, 2009, in Plainview, TX. She was born June 23, 1930 in Maple, TX where she was a longtime resident. She married Edgar J. Boyce on March 25, 1948 in Clovis, NM. She was employed as the Meat Market Manager at Maple Grocery and later was employed at the Three-Way ISD in the cafeteria. She moved to Levelland from Maple, TX in 2005 and in 2007 moved to Hale Center, TX where she was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Senior Citizens. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar J. Boyce on October 18, 2004, a daughter, Lanelda Boyce Robers on Februaury 7, 2007, 3 brothers, 3 sisters and 2 grandchildren, Michael Dupler and Marty Sides. She is survived by 2 children, Brenda Joyce Dupler of Nacadoches, TX and Johnny Boyce and wife Karen of Hale Center, TX, a brother, James Fine of Levelland, TX, and a sister, Betty Jo Carpenter of Purdy, Missouri, 6 grandchildren, Jimmy Sides and wife Jevian of Abilene, TX, Jaclyn Hayes and husband Joe of Nacadoches, TX, Jennifer Nicholson of Corsicana, TX, Christy Rogers of Lubbock, TX, Laure Dietz and husband Fred of Springlake-Earth, TX and Melissa Sides of Abilene, TX. and 7 great grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be sent to the First United Methodist Church, 202 W. Stevenson, Hale Center, TX 79041 or the Hale Center Senior Citizens, 416 W. 2nd Street, Hale Center, TX 79041.
