Obituary of Darrille Pettit

Graveside services for Darrille Pettit, 100, of Abernathy, TX, were held at 2:00 pm Sunday, November 27, 2011, in the Abernathy Cemetery with Rev. Les Griffin officiating. Services were under the direction of Abell Funeral Home and Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX. Mrs. Pettit died Friday, November 25, 2011, in Olton, TX. She was born June 16, 1911 in Red River County and moved to the Plains in 1922. She married Clay Pettit on December 24, 1936 in Abernathy and he preceded her in death on November 23, 1990. She was a faithful and longtime member of the Abernathy First Baptist Church. She is survived by a son, Thomas Pettit and wife Betty of Abernathy, TX, 3 grandchildren, Alan Pettit and Amy Lester and her husband Kevin all of Abernathy and Lisa Mack and her husband Danny of Andrews, TX and 6 great grandchildren, Jarret and Zachary Lester, Hayden and Haylee Pettit and Landon and Macee Mack.
