Services for Josh T. Howard, 70, of Lubbock, TX, were held at 2:00 pm Friday, April 18, 2008, in the Abernathy First Baptist Church with Rev. Mike O'Donnell officiating. Military graveside services followed in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy, TX. Mr. Howard died at his home in Lubbock on Tuesday, April 15, 2008. Mr. Howard was born October 11, 1937 in New Deal, TX. He was raised and attended schools in Abernathy, and he earned his Eagle Scout Rank. He was a longtime member of the Abernathy First Baptist Church. In March of 1961 he married Edith Johnson in Abernathy and together they had 2 children, Roger and LaRita. She preceded him in death in 1982. In 1983 Josh married June Locklear in Lubbock and she died in 1994. He then married Janet Weber in 1994 in Las Vegas, NV and after a 3 years of marriage she preceded him in death. Josh played Santa for 25 years as a volunteer for the Abernathy Fire Department. In 1999 he married Irene Edwards Beaudoin in Lubbock, TX, together they volunteered for Meals on Wheels and he became an avid coin collector and was a member of the South Plains Coin Club. He is survived by his wife, Irene Howard of Lubbock, TX, a son, Roger Howard and his wife Grace of San Antonio, TX, a daughter, LaRita Hughes and her husband Keith of Lubbock, TX, 2 stepsons, Donald and Charles Beaudoin both of Lubbock, TX and 8 grandchildren, Evan and Emily Howard, Haley Hughes, Danielle, Dakota, Austin, Lauren and Landon Beaudoin. The family will receive friends at Abell Funeral Home Thursday evening from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Abell Funeral Home
